About the Producer
Domaine Duroché, managed by fifth-generation winemaker Pierre Duroché, boasts extensive holdings in Gevrey-Chambertin, including three Village wines, four Premier Crus, and four Grand Crus, totaling 8.25 hectares. While most grapes are destemmed, the Griotte Chambertin is vinified as whole clusters, with fermentation relying on natural yeasts for 10 to 12 days. Pierre took full control of winemaking and vineyard management in 2005, earning acclaim from critics and enthusiasts for the quality of his wines. Since the 2014 vintage, he introduced a special cuvée, “Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux St Jacques Vignes 23,” sourced exclusively from vines planted before 1923, with some plots plowed by horse.
