About the Producer
Established in 1851 by Étienne Bouvet and Celestine Ladubay, Bouvet Ladubay is a prestigious sparkling wine producer located in the scenic Loire Valley of France. Committed to crafting exceptional sparkling wines using the traditional méthode traditionnelle, Bouvet Ladubay has become synonymous with elegance and sophistication. The winemaking process at Bouvet Ladubay is a meticulous and artful craft. Grapes are carefully selected and pressed, with the must undergoing fermentation in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks. The resulting base wine is then aged in stainless steel tanks or oak barrels, depending on the cuvée. The blending process, led by renowned winemaker Patrice Monmousseau, involves the meticulous composition of exquisite cuvées that embody the unique character and bouquet of each wine. After blending, the wines undergo a second fermentation in the bottle, where they age horizontally for 9 to 24 months, depending on the cuvée. Riddling, a process that removes sediments, is carried out using modern mechanized equipment. The disgorging process follows, where the frozen neck of the bottle is opened to remove sediments. The cuvées are then dosed with a specific liqueur d'expédition to determine their style, ranging from Extra Brut to Demi-Sec. Finally, the bottles are corked, labeled, and placed in cases for sale. Bouvet Ladubay offers a diverse range of sparkling wines to suit various preferences and occasions. From delicate and refreshing Brut to complex and indulgent vintage cuvées, each bottle exemplifies Bouvet Ladubay's commitment to excellence and over 160 years of winemaking expertise. Raise a glass of Bouvet Ladubay and indulge in the artistry, elegance, and effervescence that our wines have to offer.
