About the Producer
Frank Cornelissen owns 19 hectares of vineyards high on Mount Etna, where he has immersed himself in winemaking since childhood as the son of a Belgian wine broker. He produced his first wine in 2001 from just 0.40 hectares, driven by a passion for expressing terroir. Frank’s meticulous approach has evolved his wines from early linear, mineral-driven styles to a balanced interplay of fruit and dynamic minerality. Choosing Etna for its diverse volcanic soils, he cultivates primarily Nerello Mascalese, likening it to a blend of Pinot Noir and Nebbiolo. Working without chemicals or industrial additives, he utilizes neutral epoxy tanks and anforas to enhance the wines' natural expression.
