About the Producer
The Robert Ampeau & Fils estate is located in Meursault, at the heart of the Côte de Beaune. Belonging to a family of winemakers from father to son, Michel Ampeau, grandson of the founder, is currently at the head of the family estate. The vineyard covers 9.3 hectares, spread over a large number of appellations: Meursault, Meursault Premier Cru, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru, Auxey-Duresses, Savigny les Beaune, Beaune, Pommard, Volnay Premier Cru and Blagny Premier Cru. The red wines are sweet, round and well-balanced, with well-integrated tannins. They offer great persistence and aromatic complexity. The whites are very balanced and typical, intense, classic and very elegant. The old owner insisted on his tradition and believed that the grapes determine the quality of wine, so he redoubled his efforts to cultivate naturally. The brewed wine will never be sold on the market unless it has been cellared and ready for drinking. The quality control is very strict. At the same time, Domaine Robert Ampeau et Fils is also the only Burgundy wine that can be bottled early and then sold until the best drinking period. Because it requires more energy and effort to find the highest quality cork, and it also needs Xiangtang's experience to judge the mature time, so as to ensure the smooth storage of old wine.
