About the Producer

Duncan Savage gained recognition for producing profound, mineral-driven white wines with aging potential from unique, exposed terroirs. In 2011, he launched his own project, Savage Wines, while continuing his day job. The wines received critical acclaim, leading him to pursue Savage Wines full-time in 2016. He sources grapes and leases vineyards with old varietals across the Western Cape and recently completed an urban winery in Salt River, Cape Town. Duncan emphasizes freshness and elegance in his wines, favoring lower alcohol levels, early picking for acidity, and utilizing whole clusters and old vines whenever possible to enhance complexity.
