Tasting notes

The 2019 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Brûlés has turned out nicely, offering up aromas of crisp orchard fruit, toasted nuts and vanilla pod. Medium to full-bodied, with a pretty core of fruit, lively acids and a delicately oak-inflected finish, it's already showing well.
About the Producer
Pouilly-Fuissé, located in the Burgundy Mâconnais, comprises four villages: Chaintre, Fuissé, Solutré-Pouilly, and Vergisson, covering 761.37 hectares. Recognized as a legal production area since September 1936, it is central to the Mâcon region. The name combines the nearby Pouilly and Fuissé districts. Benefiting from a Mediterranean climate, Pouilly-Fuissé experiences fewer issues with grape ripening compared to northern Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. The limestone-rich soils yield exceptional Chardonnay wines, often fermented and aged in oak. Classic Pouilly-Fuissé wines exhibit aromas of citrus, white peach, and minerals, offering a full-bodied, refreshing taste at an accessible price, with aging enhancing their richness.
