The story of the Leroy family's dominance in the world of wine began over a century ago when François Leroy founded Maison Leroy in 1868 in Auxey-Duresses, a small village near Meursault. by the time Lalou's father Henri joined the family business in 1919, the company had already become one of the greatest companies in Burgundy. Lalou joined her father in 1955 and took over the house in 1971. Maison Leroy is the heart of the Leroy empire, Lerou is a négociant house through which Lalou buys and distributes wines from most Burgundy appellations. With her taste and criteria, she uncovers the most exciting wines of each vintage and then ages or finishes the wines herself, only bringing them to market when she knows they are at their peak. Lalou impresses with her unparalleled depth and understanding of the most hidden corners of Burgundy's terroir.
